A six minute long earthquake in 2011 in Japan created havoc in the country. The quake triggered a tsunami that in turn caused a nuclear accident in the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant by turning off the plant's cooling systems. Iran conducted more than a dozen ballistic missile tests this decade despite being barred from doing so by the UN 2010. According to an agreement signed in 2015, the country also agreed to reduce its nuclear facilities and allow international monitoring in exchange for sanctions relief. In 2018, the UN told North Korea to dismantle the Sohae Satellite Launching Station which a rocket launching site. They agreed. But in 2019, the country announced that the site was active again.

Here,thousands of Egyptians gathered in Tahrir Square, Egypt protest the government’s brutality and oppressiveness, ultimately leading to the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak. . A terrorist group called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISISI) rose up after the Arab spring. Their claim to fame were the horrifying beheading videos and other forms of torture that spread through social media.
